Bermuda’s Cody Rego placed 6th place in the Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunter Seat Finals at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.
A spokesperson said, “Cody secured an extremely commendable 6th place in the Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunter Seat Finals held during the Pennsylvania National Horse Show on Sunday 15th October.
“By way of background, 206 equestrians qualified to compete in the finals of this very prestigious Championship. The Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunt Seat Medal is comprised of multiple rounds and is judged on equitation over a set jump course at 3’6”.
“All 206 riders compete in the first round. Judges Jack Towell and Timmy Kees then select the top 24 riders to move on to compete in the second round of jumping. After the second round, a smaller group of riders is selected for further testing to determine the Championship. Bermuda’s Cody Rego Ironman made the final testing round to finish 6th out of over 200 entries in the USEF Medal Finals.
“In addition to the above achievements, Cody Rego has also qualified for the following Championships – the Finals of which will be held in October & November.
Washington International Horse Show [23rd – 29th October]
“With a cumulative total of outstanding 5,568 points, Cody holds the top-ranking spot for the WIHS. See ranking list at https://wihs.org/wihs-rankings. The WIHS Finals will be held from 23rd through 29th October at the Washington International Horseshow.
ASPCA Maclay Finals
“Cody has also qualified to compete in the 2023 ASPCA Maclay Final Championship which is considered to be one of the most coveted Championships. The FINALS will be held on 4th & 5th November at the Kentucky Horse Park.”
