The BEDC opened applications for its Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator programme, designed to assist small and medium-sized business owners in growing their enterprises.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] is now accepting applications for its accelerator programme – the Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator. This six-to-seven-month intensive programme supports small and medium-sized business owners to help them scale their businesses. Utilizing the award-winning StreetWise ‘MBA’ curriculum and a facilitated peer-learning method, entrepreneurs will receive hands-on training, networking, and industry support to help them scale their businesses.
“The Accelerator will support business owners who have been in business for over three years, have at least one full-time employee besides the owner, and earn a gross annual revenue between $100 thousand and $5 million. During the seven months, participants will receive tools to help advance their business acumen, financial management, marketing and sales strategies, human resource tactics, business strategy development and strategies to access capital and develop contracts.”
“If you’re a business owner aiming to take your established venture to the next level, our Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator programme is tailored for you,” says Jamillah Lodge, BEDC’s Director of Communications and Development.
“Helping businesses set to expand is crucial for revitalizing Bermuda’s economy. This programme offers valuable education and resources to strengthen our local business landscape.”
The spokesperson said, “The BEDC has partnered with the private sector to provide successful applicants with access to top industry experts to help deliver the curriculum and establish broader networking opportunities.”
“Our strong partnership with Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] has been going for over five years. To this day, more than 50 minority and women owned businesses in Bermuda have benefited from Interise’s StreetWise MBA program,” said Interise CEO Darrell Byers.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with BEDC as we enter our 20th year of providing the tools to help small businesses build resiliency during these challenging times. For the past five years, the Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator has supported the communities and families of Bermuda by encouraging small businesses to invest in themselves.
“For the Bermuda economy to thrive, small businesses must participate in all aspects of its economy. Interise is excited to continue to play a role in that growth through this partnership, work together to support historically disadvantaged small business owners and bring the networks, knowledge, and know-how of our programming to the local community.”
The spokesperson said, “The Enterprise Bermuda Accelerator starts on Thursday, January 11th, 2024, and will run bi-weekly on Thursdays for 13 sessions over seven months. This innovative award-winning programme is designed specifically for established small- and medium-sized business owners and non-profit managers.
