Bermuda’s Jewish community is displaying yellow ribbons “as a symbol of hope for the safe return of 240 hostages held in Gaza” and as a “heartfelt expression of support for innocent civilians in Israel and Gaza who are facing unimaginable circumstances.”
A spokesperson said, “The yellow ribbons displayed at the Jewish Community of Bermuda serve as a symbol of hope for the safe return of 240 hostages held in Gaza by Hamas terrorists. This display follows the tragic events of October 7th, where Hamas carried out brutal massacres and abductions of innocent Israeli citizens.
“The names of 32 child hostages are inscribed on individual ribbons, placed there by the children of the Jewish community. These ribbons will remain until the hostages are safely reunited with their families.
“The Jewish Community of Bermuda sees the display of yellow ribbons not just as a symbol of hope and solidarity for the hostages and their families, but as a heartfelt expression of support for innocent civilians in Israel and Gaza who are facing unimaginable circumstances.”
